Got a great deal on fresh Cranberries at Sam's Club and decided to make a variety of recipes using them. This is a regular made from scratch Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce, but I will also post a lower sugar version. Homemade Cranberry Sauce is one of the easiest recipes you can make. This is my version. I decided to enhance the flavor a bit with added Orange Zest and orange Extract. Taste great, and takes less than 15 minutes to make. Try it and see what you think.

How To Make whole berry orange cranberry sauce

  • Step 1
These are most of the ingredients used to make this recipe. Add sugar, orange juice and water to a medium size sauce pan.
  • Step 2
Place over medium high heat and bring to a boil as you stir, until sugar dissolves.
  • Step 3
When liquid begins to boil, add the fresh or frozen cranberries & orange zest to sauce pan, then stir.
  • Step 4
Cook for 10 minutes until cranberries begin to burst, and liquid begins to thicken & become like a gelatin. Remove from heat, add both extracts then stir, mixture will thicken even more as it begins to cool down..
  • Step 5
NOTE: IF YOU PREFER TO HAVE A CRANBERRY SAUCE INSTEAD OF THE WHOLE BERRY VARIETY, PUT MIXTURE THROUGH A SIEVE , BY PUSHING WITH THE BACK OF A SPOON AND RESERVE WHAT COMES THROUGH THE SIEVE.
