This is a wonderful, easy and inexpensive appetizer. I serve it at Easter time and occasionally on Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Everyone always raves about it! The original recipe comes from the Great American Brand Name Cookbook 1993 edition. My Mother-in-law gave me the book as a shower gift that same year when I was marrying her son. It has been one of my favorite cookbooks ever since! I've served it with crackers but then its just too much bread. It is so good with apples, I never knew what I was missing before!
