Ingredients

  • 1 c
    cooked pinto beans, unseasoned
  • 3/4 c
    cocoa
  • 1/2 c
    melted butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla (yes 1 tablespoon)
  • 2 lb
    powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch
    salt (do not add if beans have any salt in them)
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans

How to Make Pinto Bean Fudge

Step-by-Step

  1. Mash the beans. Mix them with the margarine, cocoa and vanilla. Stir in the sugar and pecans.
  2. Butter a 9 by 13 inch pan and spread the bean mixture in this. Put into the refrigerator and chill thoroughly. Cut into squares, serve.
