sweet & sour turkey meatballs

Ingredients For sweet & sour turkey meatballs

  • 2 slice
    white bread, torn into pieces
  • 1/2 c
    1% milk
  • 1-1/2 lb
    ground turkey breast
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 1-1/2 tsp
    dried italian seasonings.
  • 1/4 tsp
    each salt and pepper
  • 32 sm
    pimento-stuffed spanish olives
  • 1 c
    beef broth
  • 1/2 c
    marinara sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    balsamic vinegar

    gingersnap cookies, coarsely crushed.

How To Make sweet & sour turkey meatballs

    Heat oven to 450. Spray 2 jellyroll pans w/ cooking spray. In lg bowl, combine bread & milk. Let stand 5 mins. Stir in turkey, egg, worcestershire sauce, garlic, italian seasonings, salt and pepper.

    using about 2 tbsp of mix, shape into 32 balls. using a finger, make a hole in each meatball. Insert an olive into each meatball, shaping meat around olive, press to seal. Place meatballs in pans, bake 10-12 min, or until heated almost all the way through.

    Heat broiler. Broil meatballs 8" from heat, until browned and no longer pink inside, about 5 mins. In saucepan, Combine broth, marinara sauce, vinegar and cookies. Bring to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer until cookies are dissolved and sauce is thickened. Toss meatballs w/ sauce. Serve warm.
