This is the first piece taken from the corner of the pan. It had just come out of the oven so it didn't stay together very well...but it was tasty and very sweet.
This is the cake after I poured on the glaze. You can see how a lot of the glaze went into the holes. That is why next time I won't put holes in the cake. 7/10/13
While the cake was in the oven I got the powdered sugar measured into the bowl and got the vanilla out of the cupboard and measured out the milk. Ready for the glaze.
The filling ingredients.
Since you did not specify light or dark brown sugar I used dark as I had it in my kitchen. We like nuts in our baked goods so I added the (optional) chopped pecans (1 cup). Added cinnamon. Mixed well.
Ingredients for the cake itself. Since Annette used melted butter in her cake, I did too. One and one half sticks = 3/4 butter. Pictures are dated 7/10/13 because I made this yesterday.
My Hubby said this Honey Bun Cake was "Off the chain!!"
I did not have any Brown Sugar,so I used Light Brown Sugar.I did not have any flour,so I floured my baking pan with pancake batter. It worked VERY WELL. I could not tell the difference. :-)
It's sweet, light and fluffy, moist and just a beautiful tasting cake. My husband loved it and wanted me to cut it while it was still warm. Heavenly tasting. This bundt version was 45 minutes in the oven.
Well thank you again Bea. It really is a great cake and so so easy to make. It's a for sure go to cake to make in a hurry or when you want something easy or to impress that's for sure.
I made it again last Friday while we were at the beach to share with our neighbors there. They loved it and I had to give them the recipe. This is an awesome cake, kiddo.
