I Love This Cake..it Was Very Delicious! I Need To Add Either Applesauce Or Instant Vanilla Pudding (with Some Mayonnaise) To The Cake Batter, Since For Some Reason, Maybe Something I Did Incorrectly, But It Was A Just A Tiny Bit Dry For Me..but Otherwise Very Delicious! This Cake Recipe Is A Keeper For Me. Prepared On April 15, 2011.
I love this cake..it was very delicious! I need to add either applesauce or instant vanilla pudding (with some mayonnaise) to the cake batter, since for some reason, maybe something I did incorrectly, but it was a just a tiny bit dry for me..but otherwise very delicious! Thank you Altheria..yes, my grandmother use to inform me to use a box of instant vanilla pudding, since this is suppose to make cake batter moist. Someone from another cake recipe mentioned she adds one cup of applesauce to make cakes moister, but Ive never tried it (but it sounds like a brilliant idea). Also, I have thought about using mayonnaise in place of milk in this recipe, since mayonnaise also helps make cakes moister. My grandmother use to inform me to use both one box of vanilla instant pudding, and mayonnaise (in the place of milk ingredient)..some people use buttermilk in stead of mayonnaise.

I think this was probably the best tasting homemade cake I have ever made. I love to make only homemade cakes, and do not like to prepare box cakes, since the homemade cakes contain real eggs, milk, butter, flour...no powder ingredients..but the real ingredients. After baking this cake, it felt so heavy..this is due to the cake containing real ingredients. The batter had such a delicious (buttery) taste, and the icing was delicious. Also, I had to prepare more of the icing, since we like alot of icing on our cakes. That icing was delicious!

I totally agree with your comment Brenda and your photo of this cake is the way mine looked when I baked it. Hmmmm makes me want to make one right now just looking at your photo. I will try your suggestion using applesauce or instant pudding next time because mine was a little dry also.
