no - they are mixed in - you need to cut them into bite sized pieces - I just pile all 8 together, cut into strips and cut the strips into smaller pieces - btw: used flour tortillas the second time and liked it just as well as using corn

Please forgive me, I'm missing something. Where do the tortillas go? You have them "mixed together" with the other ingredients. Are they layered in the pan like a lasagne?
