Making my strawberry version of the lemon pound cake. I started with white cake mix, an a small box of strawberry jello. I used 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract. Everything else is the same.
This is a picture of the cake I made on May 16, 1976. This delicious moist cake is still a family favorite. I usually frosted it with vanilla buttercream frosting, and topped with crushed pineapple. It's still a family favorite.
My mother-in-law gave me this recipe early in my marriage. Every birthday I would make this cake for her frosted with butter cream frosting and topped with crushed pineapple. It's still a family favorite.
