Thank you for trying this recipe- I love this recipe and my family makes it every year but I make it more often than the holidays....thanks again..hugs
These came out really nice. I only used a dash of salt as recipe said, but think that a few dashes or 1/4 -1/2 tsp of salt would have set off the dates and walnuts a but more, taste-wise. It is deceivingly that the amount of batter produced will work in the suggested pan-size, but i followed instructions and spread it out to the thin layer that it produced. The dough rises when cooking and makes for a nice-sized date bar with it being on the thin-side which is what i wanted. I was looking for a recipe with oatmeal in it and this hit the spot. i have a convection oven and these were done in 25 min.
