Hubs just finished plowing the snow off the walks and driveway. Picture is a little cockeyed, as it was hard to take the pic and try to hold onto the door at the same time. The wind kept trying to blow the storm door, wide open. 8" of snow on 2/4/2014.
July 4th decorations.
I was telling you about decorating my grand daughters nails for July 4th. They love it.
I think my Mama called this hen & chicks.
I don't know what this is called. There will be small dark pink flowers come on it. The flowers closes at night & will open in the morning. It looks like long green worms. It will spread good & the roots are just about on top of the ground.
This is called Lamb ears. They are so soft & velvety.There will be a stalk with purple flowers come in the middle of the ears later on. They will spread every where. Even I couldn't kill these. So that's a miracle.
This is some kind of roses, in the past they never had blooms like this. I think the miracle grow is helping.
This is something that resembles the R combs, but I don't know the name. My husband takes care of these, this is the first years that he has had these.
I think this is what my Mama called rooster combs.
Finally, I got a picture of the Hummingbird.
These are Fairy Lillies. They are a strange flower. In spring they put forth a huge amount of foilage, long and slender leaves, then the leaves die back, and in summer these lillies suddenly appear from no where, just the flower stalk, no foilage at all.

Yellow Rose
Yellow Rose on westside of front porch.
Flowering bush, I knew the name of it the other day but it escapes me today. I have one in the front and one in the backyard. This is from the back.
I cannot remember the name of this flower, but I love how it just stretches up as far as it can go, then it puts out this little flower. They make me smile because they kind of hang over the front steps and bounce in the breeze. I remembered, Guem (sp?).

Cranesbill Geranium, this is a perennial. Grows in the front, on a corner, going to the driveway.
Jackmanii Clemantis, grows in front of shed on a trellis.
Bearded Irises next to house on driveway.
Double pink and white Columbine. These things are very invasive.

The pink, Bleeding Heart I planted last year. It's growing like a weed. It's on the other side of the walk going up to the front porch. Now I have hearts on both sides of the front steps. I guess this really is, a "home where the heart is"
An up close view of the flower on the Peonie Tree. They are huge, but only last a week or so. Usually, the rain gets to them and beats them up.
This is my Peonie Tree. I have read they are hard to grow, but this just comes back every year and it has started to spread. I don't trim it until Spring and only trim the flower stems where there are no new buds.
Check out how the Creeping Phlox in the front flower bed and at the foot of the front steps to the porch, has shaped itsself into a heart. I love that.

The beauty of this shrub is seen in Autumn. The leaves turn rose,violet or red and when they fall off the polished berries are revealed on bare stems.The clusters of berries in lilac ,violet or bright purple will persist well into December. Planted in groups these shrubs make a stunning display. Branches may also be cut for winter flower arranging. Plant in sun or light shade, in a protected spot.
