These are Fairy Lillies. They are a strange flower. In spring they put forth a huge amount of foilage, long and slender leaves, then the leaves die back, and in summer these lillies suddenly appear from no where, just the flower stalk, no foilage at all.

I will look up the spider lilly. I also have another lilly called a toad lilly. It is a very small flower with brown spots. If there are any out there I will take a picture. I kind of pulled most of them up because I don't think they are showy enough, enven though I love the little flowers. Maybe just not worth the space, if you know what I mean.
I have gotta some bulbs from my parents yard and nuture these little darlin's here in Boerne Texas. They do grow here with some TLC.
There's also another blooming beauty that pops up in my yard because of the bulbs from my folks' yard I transplanted. They are RED. They emerge from the ground whenever they decide to... no warning. They are a form of spider lily - but google it, you'll see it as "surprise lily" too.
