After allowing the cake to cool for about 20 minutes, I poke holes in the cake with the end of a wooden spoon. I melt the hot fudge in the microwave according to package instructions, and I pour the hot fudge in the holes.
Cover the cake with the creamy pudding and top it with chopped cocoa almonds. The almonds are amazing AND they keep the plastic wrap from sticking to the good stuff.
After filling the holes, I pour the rest of the hot fudge over the top. I do reserve a bit of hot fudge and hide it in the fridge for my hubby. It makes him feel special to have extra for later :)
After preparing the cake as instructed on the cake box, I pour it into a 13x9 pan I've sprayed with no stick cooking spray. I bake the cake according to the instructions on the back of the box also.
Use any cake mix, I try to stick with a chocolate fudge theme. Chocolate fudge cake mix, chocolate fudge pudding...and don't forget the jar of chocolate fudge ice cream topping!
