My bark is more of a yellow than a white. I put the melted red over the bark and ran a knife through it as best as I could.
I used parchment paper on the cookie sheet...under the bark. It worked really well. 12/15/12
Broke the bark in pieces and put them in an air-tight container. Ready to go to church tomorrow night. Hope the folks like them. They are very sweet. Something doesn't taste quite right and I think it's the freeze dried strawberries.
Me too. I want to know what everyone else thinks. We are going to another pot luck Christmas Party on Thursday morning. I'm sure that this group will try the bark as this group knows I always bring something homemade and something extra ordinary...and something delish! Can't wait to see what they think. 12/17/12
Geez-o-whiz, Rose!!! I know ... I've been to "functions" like that ..... you work so hard on something and get so excitied about people trying it and getting some feedback ....... and then..... nothing!!!! One good thing .... I'm thinking the flavors tend to blend more with "age" ... so, maybe this was a sort-of-good-thing!! Still anxious to hear the opinions ....... :-)
Well, I took them to the church get together tonight. There were sooooo many desserts on the table and they put mine in the back. Not sure anyone saw them. I had a hard time finding them and I was LOOKING for them. Didn't look like any were missing so I'm not sure anyone tried it. I am so disappointed. I wanted someone to tell me what they thought of the bark. There were LOTS of people there too. Oh well, maybe I'll take them to our next get-together on Friday. It will be a smaller crowd and maybe I can keep an eye on things better, if you know what I mean. 12/16/12
Susan, I didn't time it in the fridge so I don't know how long it took to firm up. I do know that it was extremely hard and I just broke it up as best I could. Didn't think to take a jack hammer to it. LOL. I think it's in nice-sized pieces...some are smaller for those who only want a small piece and others are larger. They are really sweet. Can't taste the strawberries as far as knowing that that is what is in there. Will see if the people who try them tonight can taste the strawberry. It might just be me. BTW...they tasted better today as they were not as hard. When I broke them apart I tried them and they were right out of the fridge. I put them on the counter in an air tight container and they were easier to eat and tasted better today. 12/16/12
Rose ..... your bark looks wonderful!!!!! Can't wait to hear how it tasted!!!!!! How long did it take to "firm up" in the fridge???? I left a second batch in the fridge a little too long and I thought I'd need dynamite to break it apart!!!!! Had to leave it set out on the counter for a while so I could break it apart!!
