Someone ask that I post a picture of the doughnut cutter, or the center cut out with it to make the holes. The hole cut out is 1"(+)in diameter.

Made on September 10, 2011...I made several dozen of donuts last night, but I cut them smaller in size than what was recommended. They are so good that they are almost all gone today! Thank you for sharing your family recipe!
Can is like a cookie cutter now.
Tadpole can openers that cut the side of the cans, leaving them sharp enough to cut the doughnuts out.

these are my first try at yeast doughnuts! I think I got the oil a bit to hot, because they got a 'lil to dark! But, they did taste very yummy!
DOUGHNUTS FRYING @ 325°
2 OF THE 3 TABLES OF DOUGHNUTS WE DID LAST NIGHT, READY TO DROP INTO FRYER.
QUADRUPLE BATHCH READY TO START THE RISE IN BOWL.
MELT CRISCO IN WARM MILK.
ST MIXTURE IS READY TO ADD TO SUGAR & SALT IN BOWL.
YEAST IN WARM WATER & A TOUCH OF SUGAR TO KICK IT IN THE BUTT TO GET GOING.
And........The finished product. They should be very light & fluffy when bitten into.
Doughnuts ready to fry. Should be doubled in size, at least.
Doughnuts before rising.
Thickness dough should be when rolled out.
Dough is fully risen or doubled in size.
