Hi Rose,the icing is what makes the cake and you can use any cake you won't but this recipe makes a nice firm & moist cake that stays put when you cut it. The slice of cake will cover your plate.I think you will like it. I've tryed the icing on several cakes and this seems to work best..... Thanks Rose
David this cake really sounds incredible. I don't usually do cake mixes, I prefer to make mine from scratch, but this sounds amazing. I will have to give it a try. I love the height of the cake. Thanks for sharing.
