I made these tonight, served with another new recipe on JAP - the Mock Lobster Casserole. The fries are real tasty, loved the seasonings. I usually only sprinkle Old Bay on my homemade fries. Thanks for the tip of soaking in the ice water.

Thank you Bonnie, it was so nice visiting with you again! I enjoy chatting with you. Thank you also for the information..we love state Parks..this place sure sounds nice...I am going to research it. Thank you Bonnie for offering to show us around, if we should visit St George one day. St George sounds like a very nice place! I love places like that, especially friendly people, and having everything within short distance. I also like to be able to get away, such as traveling to Las Vegas for shopping. Also, my family like places that have many state parks, where people can camp, picnic and swim in fresh water lakes also.
I always hear about Jacksonville having a lot of crime, etc. but it is much better place to live than in S. Florida, according to previous friends or acquaintances who use to live in S. Florida and then relocated to Jacksonville area.
We are presently enjoying the late dinner I prepared last night...your 'taco lasagna' and tonight (24 hr wait from last night), we are going to have the 'Chocolate Marshmallow Log'. The taco lasagna is so delicious!

We really did not like Jacksonville. A lot of crime, keep in mind this was MANY years ago so I do not know if things have changed. The school system was not a good one for my son. He went from A's to D's, and after we moved to CA, he went back up to A's again. What I like about this city, St. George, Utah, is that there are no bad areas of town, just older areas. Almost 140,000 people in this county and very little crime. Everything is close, Vegas is 125 miles away if you want a day of serious shopping, but do not recommend moving there.

I know what you mean about going from a really wee town, which we lived in Cedar for several years and then moved to STG. Not one bit of problem adjusting to St. George because it has small town atomosphere, but is large enough to find what we need. We found that we used to drive for an hour in the city to get some place when we lived in CA, and I had a long commute to work. In STG, we can find everything we could want, all the major stores we deal with are here, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes malls, post office, restaurants, hospitals are all about 5 minutes away. The convenience makes it very easy to adjust to. It is a clean city of friendly people. Mixed ages. Older people come here to retire, and people also raise families here. It is healthier because we have clean air here. My husband is allergic to pollution. We don't get as much wind as most desert towns, but we are nestled in among some hills, and we picked this lot for that reason, plus it has a natural park and pond behind it that belongs to the city. If you ever come this way, we would be glad to show you around!

Also, sorry Bonnie, for not responding any sooner, but I just came back from picking up one of my sons from his job, and logged on just now.
We are presently having your taco lasagna, and it is delicious, as all of your recipes are! I also have put your Chocolate Marshmallow roll in the refrigerator for the next 24 hrs, and look forward to having it tomorrow night.
I love this dish with sour cream on top..I am going to try minced up raw onions too.
I had a very good feeling that your area had mormons, and I agree, they are very religion and nice people. I like being around that type of atmosphere, since usually, when people are following a religion, they are very moral and try to do good things for everyone in their community. I understand the mormons are very nice people, and thank you for informing me about them, since I do not know much about them, but have heard they are very good hearted people.
I did not realize you had lived in Jacksonville, Florida...so you may understand why we may want to move? We have adjusted to South Florida, but Jacksonville, according to people we know, who had to move from here (S. Fla) to Jacksonville, have reported that Jacksonville is so much nicer! I wonder how large your area is? We use to live in a wee-small town in Pennsylvania mountains, but after moving to this metro area, we are not sure if we could go back to a smaller town. Did you find it difficult adjusting to a small town, after living in Jacksonville (only if your present town is small)?

I have lived all over the USA, just about. Jacksonville Beach, FL for two years. Las Vegas, California. Arkansas.

LDS is the main religion (Mormon) of course, because this is Utah where the Mormons came from back east and settled. There are other churches, of course, Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, etc. One word about Mormons, this is the reason it is such a nice place to live. Family values are paramount, and they are very community minded. They also accept you as you are regardless of your religion with no pressure to join their church. They convert by example, not pressure.

Oh, glad you like my recipes! Don't forget to take a look at the shaggy dogs, too! I love those. That roll keeps very well, that is if you don't eat it! tee hee. G'night, I am off to bed! Sweet Dreams! :D

I think Don and I would love living in a place like yours, or similar. The description sounds just what we are looking for. What is the main religion in this town? Have you lived many other places? If so, where?

Presently, I am cooking a very late supper, since my sons both work 2nd shifts, and love having supper ready for them when they arrive home every night. So, we have gotten accustomed to having suppers very late in evenings, but I love it this way also. I am making your taco lasagna again, and also the chocolate marshmallow roll...this will be the first time for making the marshmallow roll. The chocolate marshmallow roll looks like the type of chocolate I love, such as marshmallow eggs, the ones we get at Easter...also the two nuts are added to it..sounded so delicious, so I am making it tonight for the first time also! Thank you for these recipes!

This place has captured our hearts. Very little if any humidity. Very little crime. A 5 to 10 minute wait in a doctor's office. Great medical doctors and nurses and specialists. State of the art hospitals. And great people. We are really happy here.

I love places that have friendly and helpful people in them! I am the type of person who loves to visit with my neighbors from time to time. It is nice to know about other places to live in, because we are not sure if we will stay here in Florida, since it is too metropolitan for us sometimes, and we talk about other places, and try to find which places are the friendlier ones. I will have to take a look at your pictures, but I do remember a picture of your very cute dog, but will look at it again. Your dog is so cute! I can't live without having a dog, since I (and family) absolutely adore them. They make our family so happy...it is like having little kids in our household..they get so spoiled by us too. Also, I agree, since many places, such as banks, here in Florida, have installed the more modern, light colored, dry stone, tile..it is sooo beautiful at first, but give it a few years, and the tile looks worn and darkened because of all the many shoes that have walked repeatedly over them over time. I just don't like the dingy and dirty look that the lighter colored, dry stone, type of tile gets over time from feet walking over them.

Check out Bonnie's Kitchen on JAP. I think there are house pics on that and one of Chantilly on the floor. The color looks a little dark to me in the photo, but you get the idea. The lighter you go, the more it shows. I truly think it is gorgeous, but you may have to spend a lot of upkeep to keep it with a mirror-like finish.

Friendly people? This place has them. The most wonderful place I have ever lived. Sometimes we just dissolve into giggle fits over the townfolk. They are so helpful, it is funny. We really appreciate them, too. When Bill had his bypass, they cooked us meals, mowed our grass, ran errands. It was so touching. :D

Your house sounds very beautiful! I love the natural look, such as natural stone in houses, or wood floors in houses, anything natural. It has such a beautiful effect and also is good quality. Do you have the dry stone, matte, or high gloss porcelain tiles? We prefer the high gloss white tile, since it has a coating that keeps it from becoming dirty, but we wonder if it could show water streaks, since it looks like a mirror. We love all the tiles, since they all represent good quality look in the houses. We plan to make our grout lines as skinny possible, such as going with 'rectified' tiles, because we plan to do something that does not show lines, but look like a hotel hobby floor. I noticed the granite counter top in some of your pictures, and it is lovely! My husbands mother lives in Wyoming, and we visited her several years ago (my first visit to the western part of USA), and the first thing I noticed was there were hardly any trees. The northeast (USA) has many trees, but Wyoming has the semi-desert look, which reminds me so much of the western cowboy movies, and it has a beautiful rustic look about it. I have also heard that 'the more west we go, the more friendlier the people'. This is what I value the most!
