I'm 60+ and have been cooking from scratch since I could reach the stove. My children grew up on scratch made, home cooked meals. I don't think of good home cooking as gourmet meals, I think if you can make a tasty, healthy, appetizing meal from inexpensive ingredients, then you are a success story. Our society needs to get back to basics in food and stop opening boxes and freezers to pop things into the microwave. It is incredibly satisfying to create something from practically nothing and have people enjoy eating it. Cooking is fun!
