Pinterest Pass or Fail: Campfire Cones

Searching through Pinterest, we came across Lina from Hip2save.com’s Campfire Cones and they caught our eye.

Budget-friendly and easy to make, we thought these would be a great dessert for camping or cookouts. Chocolate, marshmallow, and candy all packed inside a waffle cone… it sounds divine. We headed to The Kitchen for our next Pinterest Pass or Fail.

Gather the Ingredients

  • Waffle ice cream cones
  • Marshmallows
  • Bananas
  • Strawberries
  • Any candy toppings your family likes
  • Aluminum foil

To Make the Campfire Cones

1. Stuff the cones with your desired toppings.

2. Wrap the filled cones in aluminum foil.

3. To prepare, you can place the wrapped cones on the grill and cook over medium heat for 5-6 minutes.

Or, put the cones on a baking sheet and baked in an oven preheated to 375 for about 5-8 minutes.

However you decide to warm the cones, cook until the toppings are melted and gooey.

4. Enjoy!

The Results: A Pinterest Pass!

These are quick and easy to make and the clean up is a breeze. Fun for kids or adults to make! They’re great because everyone can customize a cone to their liking. Our favorite toppings were marshmallows and Snickers Baking Bites. The melted chocolate, gooey nugget, and caramel combination was fantastic! We highly recommend giving these a try.

Test Kitchen Tips

  • Be careful when handling the cones. They crumble easily.
  • Don’t put the marshmallows at the very top of the cone. They end up sticking to the foil. Instead, layer them throughout the bottom and middle.
  • If grilling, turn the cones halfway through cooking. You won’t need to do this for the oven method.
  • These could be cooked in a campfire too. It’s best to cook these on indirect heat in the fire because the cone has a tendency to burn.
