Our thoughts: ”If you’re a bird, I’m a bird.” One of our absolute favorite love stories from the heartbreaking-master, Nicholas Sparks. We’re not crying, you’re crying! Seriously, grab the tissues. You’re going to need them while watching this beautifully heartbreaking movie.

2. Pretty Woman (1990)

Our thoughts: Who knew this story about escort and a businessman would steal so many of our hearts? It’s a sure thing you’re going to love this romance!

3. Titanic (1997)



Who to watch with: Your loved one or the girls.
Our thoughts: Near, far, wherever you are…you’re going to absolutely love this movie. By the end you’ll want Jack to paint you like one of his French girls. This is another tear-jerker so grab the tissues, but we promise your heart will go on…

4. Casablanca (1942)



Who to watch with: Your loved one or the girls.
Our thoughts: It seems cliche, but only because it created all the cliches. Yes, this is the original romantic movie that you need to play it at least once, “for old times’ sake.”

5. Sixteen Candles (1984)



Who to watch with: Your loved one, your daughter or the girls.
Our thoughts: Don’t lie, we know your secret birthday wish is to sit on a table across from Jake Ryan. We’re big fans of this light-hearted, classic 80’s romance. Enjoy!

6. About Time (2013)



Who to watch with: Your loved one.
Our thoughts: This new romance (from the people that brought you Love Actually and Notting Hill) has climbed the list to become one of our all time favorites. “For me, it was always going to be about love.” Yup, there’s absolutely going to be tears – so grab those tissues and fall in love with this extraordinary, ordinary movie.

7. Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)



Who to watch with: Your loved one or the girls.
Our thoughts: When you have the “mean reds,” just turn to some Holly Golightly – especially if you’re just crazy about Tiffany’s! We’re big fans of this classic romance and know you are too, and always remember, “never love a wild thing.”

8. Sleepless in Seattle (1993)



Who to watch with: Your loved one or the girls.
Our thoughts: One of our favorite Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan films, this cheesy and oh so romantic story is a great go-to when you’re in the mood for romance. We know you’ve always wanted to meet that special someone on top of the Empire State Building on Valentine’s Day, but you can live vicariously through Meg Ryan by watching this movie!

9. Pride and Prejudice (2005)



Who to watch with: Your loved one or the girls.
Our thoughts: This wonderful adaption of this classic novel is a must-watch. With the swoon-worthy Mr. Darcy and the easily-relatable Elizabeth Bennet, everyone loves this romantic story. “If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on.” Be still our beating hearts.

10. Say Anything… (1989)

Our thoughts: Don’t we all wish for John Cusack standing outside our window, holding a boombox over his head? Well, I know I do. In our eyes, this is one of the best romantic movies out there.

11. Notting Hill (1989)

Our thoughts: We’re just girls, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love us. Yeah, we’re looking at you Hugh Grant, and yes, we’re definitely crying.

12. When Harry Met Sally (1989)



Who to watch with: Your loved one or the girls.
Our thoughts: The things that Harry says makes it impossible for us to hate this movie. Another Meg Ryan classic, this is a great romantic story that everyone is sure to fall in love with.

13. Roman Holiday (1989)



Who to watch with: Your loved one or the girls.
Our thoughts: One of the best love stories, a princess falls in love with the American. Another great from the wonderfulness that is Audrey Hepburn. Lots of good feelings coming this way!

14. Love Actually (2003)



Who to watch with: Your loved one or the girls.
Our thoughts: To me, this movie is perfect, and our wasted hearts will love it forever. Okay, so this was on our Christmas movie list too, but it actually deserves love all year round.

15. Dirty Dancing (1987)

Our thoughts: We have the time of our life watching Baby and Johnny dance in love! Oh, and let’s not forget the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, so good! Always remember, never put baby in the corner.

16. Sweet Home Alabama (2002)

Our thoughts: What you do you wanna watch this movie for anyhow? So you can enjoy the magic of felony Melanie and Jake anytime you want.

17. Out of Africa (1985)



Who to watch with: Your loved one or the girls.
Our thoughts: It is epic, visually stunning, and based on real characters, and an amazing love story. Plus, we have a deep fondness for Meryl Streep – so what’s not to love?!

18. Jerry Maguire (1996)



Who to watch with: Your loved one.
Our thoughts: Everything a date night movie needs, sports plus a lot of romance (aka, a little something for everyone). That’s why this movie, that had us at hello, completes me and this movie list.
