We know you love them (duh), but trying to get work done with the kiddos crowding the kitchen can be a challenge. Solution? Fun ways to keep them entertained and OUT of the kitchen.
1. Decorate the Tablecloth
Whether you’re doing a burlap runner or a kraft paper tablecloth, have the kiddos draw turkeys, write down what they are thankful for and just draw whatever they fancy.
2. Paper Bag Turkey Puppets
Grab some brown paper bags, write “I am thankful for:” and let the kiddos write what their thankful for in markers. Then provide big googly eyes, colorful feathers and construction paper for them to decorate their turkeys to their heart’s content. A super easy and adorable Thanksgiving craft!
3. Popcorn Turkey
Grab some clear plastic gloves, some colored tissue paper and popcorn to make these fun turkeys!
4. Thanksgiving Coloring Pages
When all else fails, color pages to the rescue! There’s nothing better than supplying a box of Crayolas and some Thanksgiving-themed coloring pages. The kiddos can create homemade gifts for guests or to decorate the fridge. Trust us, you’ll be thankful for coloring!
5. Painted Hand Turkeys
An oldie but a goldie, this classic craft is a favorite of many! They are super festive and super adorable. Protips: Make sure the thumb is low to make it the turkey’s head. Also, use colored feathers for the turkey feathers.
6. Turkey Bowling
This is a super easy way to keep the kids entertained and active while you spend the day cooking. With a brown solo cup plus some arts and crafts, this kid-approved activity will be ready in less than 15 minutes!
