This old fashion vegetable soup recipe has been in our family for eons. No one knows where or how it orginated. The recipe takes time to prepare, but, believe me, it's totally worth it. The soup is even better the second day after the ingredients "marry".

Ingredients

2
soup bones
2 lb
stewing beef
4
onions, chopped
3
potatoes, chopped
3
carrots, chopped
1/2
head of cabbage, shredded
1
turnip, chopped
1
large stalk of celery, chopped
1 Tbsp
parsley
1 can(s)
whole tomatoes, squashed
salt and pepper to taste
enough water to cover all

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Roll boil soup bone, stewing beef, 1 large onion, and water for 2 1/2 hours
2
Add potatoes, carrots, rest of onions, cabbage, turnip, celery, parsley, tomatoes, salt & pepper.
3
Slow boil for 2 hours.
4
Better the second day.

Connie, this is good, old-fashioned home cooked food! This is how food used to be made all the time and you just can't replicate the flavor. Most people in the US have never tasted food like this.

I can't wait to try your recipe!
