I have had this recipe for many years...I accidently found it in my old buisness envelope! and going thru some old 1995 records, from when I had a buisness, and finally getting around to shredding...! HA!...LOL
I fOUND this great recipe.

vegetable oil
1 c
finely chopped onions
1/2 c
finely chopped celery
2 tsp
minced garlic... ( keeps the vampires away !!)

white beans, cooked without salt. i use canned rinsed 3 to4 times, and drained
1 c
finely diced butternut squash
1 c
chopped carrots
1 can(s)
(13-3/4 or 14-1/2 oz) reduce-sodium chicken broth
1 c
strip (2 inches) lemon peel
1/4 tsp
freshly ground pepper
1/8 tsp
4 c
shredded cabbage
1 can(s)
(14 or 16oz) whole reduce-sodium tomatoes
1 tsp
lemon juice
1/2 c
juliened fresh basil
1 tsp
grated lemon peel

Directions Step-By-Step

The key to minizing water retention is avoiding salt and,
yes, consuming lots of liquids. !
This soup,fills the bill.
Use every ingredient...it is formulated to work.
Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add onions and celery, cover and cook, stirring occasionally till tender, about 5 minutes.
Stir in garlic, cook 30 seconds.
Add beans, squash,carrots and chicken broth, water,lemon peel, pepper and thyme.
Bring to a boil gently, uncovered, until vegetables are tnder, about 20 minutes.
Add cabbage, cook just until cabbage is tender, about 5 minutes.
Stir intomatoes and lemon juice, return to boil.
Add basil and grated lemon peel
Makes 6 delishes servings.
