Just added a twist to a classic comfort favorite side dish. Flavorful, hot and melty with a smidgen of WOW! This dish is guaranteed to please and be the hit of the party on anyone's dinner table :)

Ingredients

4-5 large
potatoes
1/2
onion - diced
3 Tbsp
butter
3 Tbsp
all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp
kosher salt
1/2 tsp
black pepper
1/2 tsp
cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp
garlic powder
2 c
milk
1 1/2 c
shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Step-By-Step

1Peel, cut in half lengthwise and slice potatoes.
2Preheat oven to 350.
3Butter baking dish/pan and layer in potatoes, sprinkle in half of the diced onion.
4Melt butter in saucepan, sprinkle in the flour and cook on medium heat until bubbly.
5Sprinkle in salt, pepper, cayenne and garlic powder. Add milk and stir until thickened and close to boil.
6Take off heat and stir in cheese until smooth and melted.
7Pour half the cheese sauce over first layer of potatoes.
8Add the remaining potatoes and diced onions to dish.
9Pour the remaining sauce over the top... spread out over all potato and onion mixture.
10Sprinkle with a bit of cayenne, cover with foil and bake 1.5 hours. (Pull off foil last 30 minutes to brown) let set on counter 5-10 minutes... serve and enjoy :)
