Nancy J.'s Notes:

I got to wondering..if I can steam carrots...
why not radishes!
So I devised this warm and buttery radish lettuce salad. Using left over radishes I had in the refrig..
I made it for lunch, and loved it.
Hope you will try it also.

Directions

1
Clean and trim radishes.
Cut larger one in half.
Put in a steamer micro-wave covered dish with butter, and water in the bottom for steaming.
Steam about 5-6 minutes.
2
Have ready a salad bowl or plate with cut up (torn) lettuce leaves.
Add a couple black olives, warm steamed radishes, salt and pepper and a dollop of a creamy dressing.
3
Add as many steamed radishes as you want.
Enjoy.

Ma, I like this idea of Steamed Radishes. I simply must try it, and let you know how it is. Thanks for a great idea.

Hey ma! I always wondered if you could cook radishes and eat them. I always thought they tasted a whole lot like turnips. This is great because I grow radishes every year (I mostly gave them away to neighbors) but one can only eat so many radishes in, on or beside salads and whatever. I'm going to check out that link that Lisa put up there also. I'm so excited about this!!! I really like radishes and would hurt someone if they tried to take my turnips. Hey, I might get to where I would want to hurt someone if they tried to take my radishes!!!LOL!!
Do they freeze well?

OMG, you clever lil stinker, you!! :) :) :) I LOVE this idea!!! I love the heat from radishes but not always the harsh crunch. I bet you can even cook them til tender, puree them, and add it to chili for a neat little extra kick of heat!!! Wow, this is really cool, Ma!!!! I'm so loving this!! SO MANY possibilities now!!! AND your original idea above, too! Wish I woulda thought of it!! Hugs and KUDOS to ya!! :) Brilliant, just brilliant. :) :)

This recipe sounds like one I would try. I have had boiled radishes in a soup recipe and they were really good. I was leary of making that soup with the boiled radishes but tried it anyway. YUMMY. Didn't taste at all like I thought they would. I love radishes and could eat them by the bag full. Pinching. 1/5/13

We were invited out last night to play cards with an elderly couple...in their 80's. OOPS, that's your age...
We left early because hubby had some business in their neck of the woods and it was easier to do on-the-way to see them than to make an extra trip over that way next week.

So glad that you are gettin therapy and that it is helping you!!!!
Now with all that "exercise" how do you STILL have time to post recipes and compile cookbooks???
YOU ARE AMAZING....WONDER WOMAN!!!!!!!
