FRESH PEAR SALAD w/PEAR & Blu CHEESE DRESSING
Nancy J. Patrykus
A friend and I went up to Green Bluff, WA (by Mt.Spokane) 1/2 hour drive from Spokane, WA.
we loaded the car with fresh produce from many fruit and vegetable farms up there.
Plums, apples, peaches, pears, carrots, potatoes, various squashes, tomatoes, beets, garlic,
and the delicious Walla Walla onions! (see all pictures)
Here is the "pinched" recipe using the pears.
Nancy ... 9/24/12
In 1/3 cup of water, in a saucepan add tarragon, sugar and chopped pear.
Simmer over medium heat till pear os soft,
about 4 minutes.
Watch so that the water does not evaporate.
You should have about 7/8 of a cup of liquid and pears.
Put in a container, and keep cool.
Serve over this delicious salad ,with a sprinkling of the Blu Cheese.
and the darling salad servers,
with little radish handles.
I found at a garage sale the same day !!
only 50 cents............
