Mild and Tasty Italian Meat Sauce for Pasta

This is the recipe I used to prepare for my children. My daughter recently said that she loved it as a child but it is not spicy enough for her now. I used to make a large batch (4 times the recipe) so I could freeze the extra for future meals.
Now I would add some red pepper flakes to spice it up a bit.
As it is written it is child-friendly or for people who do not like much spice.

Ingredients

1/2 lb
ground beef
1 medium
onion, chopped
1 clove
garlic, minced
2 can(s)
tomato paste, (5 1/2 oz size)
3 c
water
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
sugar
1/2 tsp
oregano, dried
1/2 tsp
basil, dried
1/4 tsp
pepper

Step-By-Step

1Brown beef lightly; drain fat. Add onion and garlic; cook until soft.
2Stir in tomato paste, water and seasonings.
3Simmer, uncovered, 1 hour.
Serve over hot spaghetti or other pasta as preferred.
