THIS IS THE WAY MY MOM USED TO MAKE BEEF STEW (with the exception of the red wine...I LOVE RED WINE IN MY COOKN SO I ADD IT IN ;) ....ANOTHER DIMENSION OF FLAVA...DELICIOUS ALONE OR SERVD ON RICE.

beef stew meat (i had 1 lb 1 1/2 better :)

flour...seasond with 1 tsp each salt blk pepper n garlic powdr
3 Tbsp
vegetable oil

potatoes, peeld n diced 1-2 "

carrot, chopd
1 stalk(s)
celery , slicd 1" pieces
1 can(s)
tomatoes, diced 14 oz
1 can(s)
tomato sauce ...sml can
1/2 c
red wine
1/2 c
beef or chicken broth
a few sprigs of thyme

Directions Step-By-Step

DREDGE BEEF CUBES IN SEASOND FLOUR ....BROWN IN VEG OIL THEN ADD CHOPD ONION SAUTE TILL ONIONS R TENDER....DEGLAZE WITH RED WINE COOK FOR A MIN OR TWO

ADD POTATOES, CARROTS, CELERY, THYME, CHOPD TOMATOES ,TOMATO SAUCE AND BROTH.

STIR MIXTURE, COVER N SIMMER FOR 2 HOURS....STIRRING OCCASIONALLY :)

REMOVE THYME STEMS N SEASON WITH S n P. TO TASTE. SERVE ON RICE IF DESIRED OR JUST SERVE WITH FORK....ENJOY ;)
