I've been making this fudge for 30+ years and it comes out perfect every time. It's so fast and easy and comes out very rich, creamy and delicious. I don't remember where I originally got the recipe, but it's been a keeper. You can add in things like nuts, candy or whatever you like or if you prefer, just keep it plain, like the picture. This fudge makes a great Christmas gift and I've filled many a gift tin with it over the years and it's a hit every time. Hope you enjoy it as much as our family has.

Serves:

Makes an 8" X 8" pan of fudge

Cook:

5 Min

Method:

Stove Top

Ingredients

1 can(s)
sweetened condensed milk
1 c
semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c
milk chocolate chips
1 tsp
vanilla

OPTIONAL: IF YOU PREFER A DARKER FUDGE, YOU MAY USE 2 CUPS SEMI-SWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS AND OMIT THE MILK CHOCOLATE CHIPS. IF YOU PREFER A LIGHTER CHOCOLATE, YOU MAY ADD 2 CUPS MILK CHOCOLATE CHIPS AND OMIT THE SEMI-SWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS.

YOU CAN ADD ANY COMBINATION OF CHIPS THAT YOU LIKE, JUST SO THAT YOUR TOTAL AMOUNT OF CHIPS DOES NOT EXCEED TWO CUPS.

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Line an 8" X 8" pan with foil and coat with butter, set aside.
2
Pour sweetened condensed milk into a heavy sauce pan. Add chocolate chips. Stir constantly over low/medium heat until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. NOTE: At this time, you may also stir in nuts, candy pieces, toffee, or whatever you like. Spread mixture into 8" x 8" pan and chill for at least one hour or until fudge is firm.
3
When fudge is firm, remove pan from refrigerator and lift out using foil. Remove foil and cut into squares (I use a pizza wheel). Store covered in refrigerator.
