Apple-Oatmeal Spice Cookies

These cookies are so good and the apple butter is an easy trick to keep the cookies flavorful. My little charges love these cookies I make 2 different batches one with nuts and one without as one is allergic to nuts, so I put chocolate chips in hers.

Ingredients

3/4 c
brown sugar, packed
1/2 c
granulated sugar
1/4 c
margarine,room temperature
3/4 c
apple butter or you can use applesauce
1 large
egg
2 Tbsp
milk 2%
2 tsp
vanilla
1 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
nutmeg
3 c
quick or old fashioned oatmeal, uncooked
1 c
diced dried mixed fruit or raisins or nuts

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat oven to 350^. Lightly spray cookie sheets with cooking spray.
Beat sugars and margarine in large bowl until well blended. Add apple butter, egg.milk and vanilla; beat well.
Combine dry ingredients in a small bowl; mix well. Add to creamed mixture; mix well. Stir in oats and dried fruit,raisins or nuts.(or a mixture of all).
This dough will be soft. or moist.
Drop dough by rounded Tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheets
Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets. Transfer to wire rack; cool completely. Store tightly covered.
