This was my grandmother's recipe. Made for special occations but, it's too good not to share the love for Valintines Day.

(The eggs in this dish are not cooked.)

But it is sooooo gooood! Never have any leftovers.

Method:

Stove Top

Ingredients

1/4 c
water
1/4 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
cocoa powder
1/2 c
butter, room temperature
1 c
powdered sugar
3
egg yolks, reserve whites
1/2 c
walnut pieces, chopped (optional)
80
mini marshmallows (about 2 1/2 cups)
12
graham crackers, crushed

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Combine water, sugar and cocoa. Boil for 6 min, let cool.
(Letting it cool is an important step if you want it to be creamy and fluffy in the end.)
2
Cream butter and powdered sugar. Add 3 egg yolks, beat well.
Add marshmallows, chocolate sauce and nuts. Mix well.
3
Beat egg whites to a hard peak, fold into chocolate mixture.
(I some times add a 1/4 tsp. cream of tarter and 1 tsp. of sugar to help it stiffen up)
4
Crush graham crackers. Spread half of the crumbs in a 9X9 pan. Pour in mixture on top of crumbs. Sprinkle remaning crumbs on top.
5
Place in icebox (refridgerator) over night before serving.
