Grilled Fireside Shortcake
- 2 1/3 c
- 3 Tbsp
- granulated sugar
- 3 Tbsp
- butter or margarine, melted
- 1/2 c
- fresh or canned fruit, crushed with sugar
Spread dough in one sprayed or greased 9-inch foil pie pan.
Invert another sprayed or greased same size foil pan over pan with dough. Secure rims together with spring - type clothespins.
Place pans on grill 4 inches from hot coals.
Cook 15 minutes on each side or until brown. Serve warm with strawberries crushed with sugar or other fruit.
You may just want to cook dough on a stick over coals until baked through.
On long skewers or stick cover end of stick with fol and spray foil all around.
Divide dough into 8 equal pieces and form around sprayed foil. Hold over coals until baked through turning often. Remover to dish and server with berries and ice cream or topping.
