Grandma Delleplain Lemon Cake Filling

This recipe is 64 years old it was used by my grandma . Over the years it got a lot of use from the family.

Ingredients

3/4 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
cornstarch
1/8 tsp
salt
1 Tbsp
grated lemon rind
1/3 c
lemon juice
1/2 c
water
1
egg beaten
1 Tbsp
butter

Step-By-Step

1Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt very thoroughly, add remaining ingredents and blend.
2Cook over boiling water stirring constantly until thickened. let cool and fill a two layer cake.
