This recipe was in the newspaper a few years ago, it is from King Arthur Flour, and you are going to love it - my family is just crazy for it. Makes a great snack any day! (I only tweaked it a little)
bacon, cooked, chopped small
brown sugar, firmly packed
all purpose flour
pure maple syrup, not pancake syrup
2 1/4 c
cold dairy buttermilk (must be buttermilk)
1Heat oven to 475^. Lightly spray 9-inch round cake pan.Set aside.
Combine all ingredients and mix well until combined.
Spread evenly in prepared pan. Set aside.
Whisk dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Work in cold butter with pastry blender. Stir in buttermilk, stirring to make a sticky dough.
3Drop dough in heaping Tablespoons of use a cookie scoop, slightly overfilled.
Bake for 10 minutes - then turn off the oven- leave the pan in the oven for 5-10 more minutes, until it gets golden brown.
Immediately turn pan over onto serving plate. Scrape any topping left in pan onto biscuits.
Pull apart to serve and eat. Oh this is so good, with eggs in the morning.
