Being the daughter of an Italian mom and African-American dad, me, my four sisters, and brother grew up on delicious food from both cultures. Everything we ate was grown in our garden and cooked from scratch. My mom and dad were both wonderful cooks and I cherish the memories of the family gatherings and can still smell the aroma of the awesome foods they prepared. This is where my love from cooking came and I followed the same tradition with my children always preparing them home cooked meals throughout the weekday and on weekends. Sunday dinner was always a time for family gatherings.
