1 lb. ground Italian sausages, mild or spicy if you’d like
4-6 russet potatoes, thinly sliced or you can peel them and dice
1 – 1.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large white onion, chopped
4 tablespoons of real bacon pieces (Required. Feel free to use more as well)
2 Tbsp minced garlic (about 3-4 cloves)
10 cups of water, divided
7 teaspoons ‘better than bouillon’ chicken base
1/3 bunch of fresh kale, stemmed and torn
1 cup heavy cream
Salt and pepper
Shredded pecorino romano cheese OR parmesan cheese (Optional)
