"Side Yam Dish..."
INGREDIENTS

Back in the 1960's my old aunts used to make this dish for Thanksgiving and other holidays.

Get out a large mixing bowl. Oven temperature 350º
•
1 Large Can of Yams - (cut them in smaller pieces as they tend to be big hunks)
•
1 Can of Whole Cranberries-not the Jelly ! (Ocean Spray) Sometimes customers mix up
•
the cans on the shelves as they look the same so be careful when selecting)
•
1 1/2 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
•
1 Tsp. Salt (to taste)
•
1 Tsp. White Pepper (to taste)
•
1 Tablespoon Tarragon
•
1 Tablespoon good quality Cinnamon
•
1 Tablespoon Oregano
•
3 Slices of white stale bread, or one sleeve of Ritz Crackers crushed into crumbs
•
1 Stick of unsalted butter
