¾ cup bourbon
½ cup apple juice, warm
2 tablespoons warm water (105° to 110°)
1½ teaspoons active dry yeast
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon orange zest
3 large eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1 cup whole milk
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
Garnish: candied orange slices, fresh rosemary
