Wolferman's Hermits

Wolferman's Hermits was pinched from <a href="http://www.tastebook.com/recipes/3850966-Wolferman-s-Hermits" target="_blank">www.tastebook.com.</a>

"Wolferman’s had an exclusive market at 59th and Walnut streets, just a block down the road from Mere’s. Occasionally, Angie and Pat would walk down to the shop and Angie usually wanted a cookie from their bakery section. She learned very quickly that she could get anything by saying “Charge this to my daddy.” Tuesdays were butcher day at Wolferman’s and the neighborhood dogs all knew this. They would gather at the back door for the butcher to come out and give them a prize bone to take home. Often, they were up to 2 feet long! Helen Reynolds of Kansas City received this recipe from a woman who baked the cookies for Wolferman’s restaurant on the Plaza. It was reprinted in the Kansas City Star on Nov. 21, 1981...."
