1 cup (2 sticks/227 grams) unsalted butter, softened

1 1/2 (300 grams) cups granulated sugar

6 large egg whites
•
1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
•
1 1/3 cups (320 ml) whole milk, at room temperature
•
For the frosting:
•
1 pound (4 sticks)(454 g) unsalted butter
•
4 cups confectioners sugar (500 g), sifted
•
1 tablespoon (15 ml) vanilla extract
•
1/2 teaspoon salt
•
3-4 tablespoons (45 ml) heavy cream or milk
•
1-2 drops food coloring (I used Americolor Soft Pink)
