2 medium onions, peeled and quartered

8 cups chicken broth

3/4 cup chopped carrots

1/2 tsp. dried thyme

3/4 cup flour

3 Tbsp. stick butter or margarine (its Thanksgiving, go for the butter)

1/2 tsp. pepper
•
1 can of cream of celery or cream of chicken soup (optional, Trina likes to add for richness)
