1 tablespoon brandy or cognac

One 8-ounce container mascarpone, at room temperature
•
1 cup heavy cream, chilled
•
1/2 cup brewed espresso
•
1/4 cup nut liqueur, like Nocello, Frangelico or Pisa
•
8 hard Italian ladyfingers (savoiardi)
•
4 ounces finely chopped extra-dark bittersweet chocolate
•
Unsweetened cocoa for dusting
