2 cups flour

2 cups sugar

1/4 tsp. salt

2 sticks butter
•
4 Tbs. cocoa
•
1 cup boiling water
•
1/2 cup buttermilk ***
•
2 eggs
•
1 tsp. vanilla
•
1 tsp baking soda
•
FROSTING:
•
1/2 cup chopped pecans
•
1 1/2 sticks butter
•
4 Tbs. cocoa
•
6 Tbs. milk
•
1 tsp. vanilla
•
2 cups powdered sugar
•
*** If you don't have any buttermilk on hand, you can put 1 tsp. vinegar in your measuring cup and fill the rest of the 1/2 cup with milk. Let it sit for a couple minutes & that is a great substitute!
