"Hush puppies with a little Tex Mex flair!..."

1 ½ cups self rising cornmeal

¾ cup self rising flour
•
1 ½ tablespoon sugar
•
½ cup shredded pepper jack cheese ( I used Cabot)
•
¼ cup chopped poblano pepper
•
1 egg, lightly beaten
•
1 ½ cups buttermilk
•
vegetable oil
•
For the Dipping Sauce
•
¼ cup Greek yogurt
•
2 tablespoon buttermilk
•
1 tablespoons Ranch seasoning
