3 tablespoons soy sauce (gluten-free or tamari for gluten-free)
2 tablespoon hoisin sauce (gluten-free for gluten-free)
1 tablespoon brown sugar (or maple syrup, or honey)
1 teaspoon chili sauce (such as sambal oelek or sriracha)
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon garlic, grated
1 tablespoon ginger, grated
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup water (or broth)
1 teaspoon szechuan/sichuan peppercorns (lightly toasted and ground)
1/2 teaspoon chinese 5 spice
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
1 pound ground beef
2 bell peppers, diced
4 green onions, thinly sliced, divided into lights/greens
