1/4 cup butter, cubed
2 cups uncooked instant rice
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cup boiling water
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 medium onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
