Sourdough Banana Bread

8 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup dark brown sugar (OR light brown OR white sugar)
2 large eggs
3 medium very ripe bananas (mashed)
3 tablespoons sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup unfed sourdough starter (or active starter)
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans)
