Mark's Polish family recipes, and while I agree with the mushrooms, there are so many other veggies in here, I would consider it more a vegetable soup.

Ingredients
- 2 whole carrots
- 1 parsley root
- 2 stalks celery
- 2 onions, sliced
- 4 cups salted water
- 1 pound mushrooms, washed and sliced
- 1 cup water
- salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon dill leaves
- 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
- barley

Step 1Cook the carrots, parsley, celery and 1 onion in 4 cups salted water for 20 minutes. Strain. Cook the musrooms and the second onion in 1 cup water for 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper. Combine with vrgetable broth, add fhe flour mixed with 1/4 cup cold water. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add sour cream, dill, and parsley. Add the barley and let simmer.
