the best broccoli cheese soup
I never used to use Velveeta but a friend gave me this recipe and it is really good. Now I use Velveeta.

Ingredients
- 1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped broccoli
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 bottle (16 ounces) half and half
- 1 can (14 ounces) chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated black pepper
- 1 package (8 ounces) cubed milk mexican velveeta cheese
How To Make the best broccoli cheese soup

Step 1Cook broccoli according to package directions, except be careful not to over cook. Drain well. Set aside.

Step 2Melt butter in a large saucepan and saute onion in this butter. Cook until onion is translucent. Keep heat on medium and add flour, stirring to mix as you add. Then slowly pour in half and half, broth, and add salt and pepper. Continue to cook with heat on medium. Stir constantly until mixture begins to thicken. Do NOT let mixture come to a boil.

Step 3Add chese and continue to stir and cook until cheese is melted. Remove from heat and stir in broccoli. Serve immediately. Garnish with a bit of reserved broccoli or a little grated cheese, if desired.
