How to Make Split Pea & Ham Soup
- 1Rinse peas,remove stones and debris. Melt buter in large dutch oven over medium heat.Saute onion,celery,garlic and carrots.
- 2Add ham hocks,peas and 9cups of water,bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low,cover pot and simmer soup for 1hr.20 minetes till ham and vegetables are tender. Stir often.
- 3Remove ham from pot,cut and dice meat from bones,add to soup.Season with salt and pepper to taste.
