Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 1/2 pounds canned diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato juice
  • 1 1/2 cups prepared bloody mary mix
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • sour cream and chopped green onions as a garnish (optional)

How To Make spicy cream of tomato soup

  • Step 1
    Make a roux in a large stock pot using butter and flour - be care that it doesn't burn.
  • Step 2
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Step 3
